HEY, WOODSTEIN, Is this just the tip of the iceberg, a hint of much deeper, more serious, systematic problems? Are all sorts of decisions routinely made by dangerously insulated committees; committees not only hidden from public view, but secretly controlled and fiercely (tiresomely, bureaucratically) defended by special interest influence? If so, can these type committee activities be made more transparent by requiring public web postings, and, eventually, broadcasts (webcasts) of meetings, actions, or lack thereof? Imagine the possibilities of interfacing our educational system with such real world webcasts. Let's start with a question, where answers appear obvious, but committee machinations appear undecipherable. Let's start with, "Are emergency EXIT signs reliable?" |
